On May 19th we tried something different. We had our Court of Honor outdoors. We had our bridging ceremony just before crossing a bridge over the creek that feeds the lake at Randol Mill park. We welcomed two new members to Troop 545: Caden and Nate.
Serving our charter organization, Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Troop 545 builds and controls the Easter Vigil fire. The fire is used as part of the Easter Vigil Mass. Inside the church all lights are out and everyone in the congregation sits in the dark holding an unlit candle. The Paschal candle, symbolizing Christ, the Light of the World is past through the church lighting everyone’s candle.
Pack 378 held their Blue and Gold Banquet at Most Blessed Sacrament (our charter organization). Troop 545 turned out to server the food. About half of our current Scouts were a part of Pack 378 as Cubs.
We will have a day event Sunday, March 2 at 2:00pm at DynoRock in Arlington. Cost is $14 and all scouts and adults who will climb need this release form – Dynorock Waiver. The form must be completed in the presence of the DynoRock staff or parent must have form notarized if not able to be present.
